Pastor Baker was born and raised in the Northern Kentucky area. He grew up in an Independent Baptist Church located in Newport, Ky, and attended Christian schools for most of his life. At the age of 11, he trusted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. Then, in the summer of 2006, he met his future wife, Jessica.

Brother Baker has been serving in the ministry for nearly 13 years total now. At the age of 23, he began substitute teaching children’s Sunday school classes at his home church. After a couple of years, he started to preach and teach weekly at a juvenile detention center, and also at a nursing home; ministries in which he faithfully served for many years. Later, he served as a deacon and full-time employee at his local Baptist church.

Pastor Baker decided that he was going to start a church in Florida after discovering how receptive the people of Jacksonville were to the gospel. In February of 2018, Pastor Tyler Baker was ordained by his home church, New Macedonia Baptist, and in March he was sent out to start Valiant Baptist Church. Pastor Baker has been the lead Pastor of VBC for 5 years in March, 2023.
